I was all over Stanley…I should have given him that lick.
There’s always next year’s cup photo-op for that I suppose!

Pictures with the Stanley Cup??? THANK YOU BLACKHAWKS!!!!
I have three season tickets in my Blackhawks account eligible for three pics with the Stanley Cup. One for me, one for my buddy Steve and one for….who knows?!?! Ryno, you gonna make the trip for the photo-opp of a life time good buddy?

I booked October 6th 12PM for my pic! Will post on HJA ASAP!
Here at hockeyjackass.com we can neither confirm nor deny the allegation in this picture. We can however confirm Pronger is NOT a Stanley Cup champ in 2010.

Who thinks Kaner was the one who wrote that?
Thanks to my little buddy Manders for finding this pic…she is the craziest and cutest Blackhawks fan in the whole of Chicago and a true hater of Pronger after he roughed up Mr. Hossa (the love of her life BTW) in Game 6.
Go Hawks!

History WAS Made!

Thank you. Thank you. Thank you!
My buddy Steve L. shares the Blackhawks season tickets with me so we obviously see tons of hockey games together. But tonight he’s on his own in Philly at the game.

Careful around all that orange!
He runs an online retail store that sells costumes and action figures (check out toynk.com) and a big part of his business is going to toy shows around the country and running a booth. As luck would have it, Philly Comic-Con (like the Comic-Con in the entourage episode but crappier I’m sure) happens to be this week so he dropped $450 to be live on the scene live at the Wachovia Center for the coronation of the Hawks!
So what’s a Hawks fan do at a Flyers game when he’s all alone? He texts his boys of course!! Here’s what he’s saying so far:
- I got two hawks fans right next to me. Probably about 6 total in the entire section
- So far Philly fans are very respectable
- Hawks intro puts this shit to shame. It seriously is ridiculous
- The one better thing they have is white netting and it only goes up half way. Hawks need to change that
And of course he sends a pre-game pic. Steve good buddy, just be careful in that place! Philly fans are known for not being the friendliest!

A few weeks ago I posted about how excited I was to be going to my first ever Stanley Cup game – something that I never really expected would happen. Since then, I’ve been to all three games in Chicago and dude, they were awesome.

One more win before Johnny does the shoulder press of his life!
Obviously everyone in the building was geeked up like it was 1961 all over again and with the NHL taking over the production of the game, the fan interaction was a big step up compared to other playoff games. Those three hockey games brought to the United Center the most positive and upbeat vibe I’ve ever seen.
I never think to take a camera to a Hawks game because you know, I’ll be there the next game too so it’s never ABSOLUTELY critical for me to lug yet another thing in my pocket.
But for whatever reason, I finally decided to take a camera to Game 3 on Friday night in the United Center.
Unfortunately, the camera I took was a piece of crap and I did it very much on reflex as I was leaving my apartment. The end result was that the real good shit you want to watch (the post-game celebrations that you can only see in the stairways and hallways of the arena and not on TV) I didn’t record because of a full memory card and a dead battery.
Dustin Byfuglien scored yet another winning goal in the playoffs. Check out my vid from Section 328 of the goal.
More footage of the Blackhawks Game 4 win to come! We’re going to the Cup baby!!
I absolutely hope the Blackhawks win 5 more games this season and claim the Stanley Cup – obviously that’s the ultimate plan.

5 More Wins for the Cup but only 1 More For a Taste of the 4th and Final Round
But before that happens, they’ll have to win one more game and when they do, I’ll finally be among those precious few fans that have a vested interested in the outcome of the finals (i.e., actually give a shit about who wins) and more importantly, actually get a chance to go to the home games (i.e., the “Club”).
I’m glad this dudes head was blocking my view for most of Game 1. The Hawks were disgraceful. On my way to Game 2 now and I warranty a Chicago win tonight….that’s with or without big-head in row 9.

The Chicago satellite office of HockeyJackass.com is in its infancy and I appreciate that HockeyJackass.com has most of its fans close to the website’s central command in the Vancouver area. That said, I’m not going to trash-talk the Canucks going in to the Western Conference semis. Moreover, Vancouver is a scary team so any trash talking or bold predictions of a Blackhawks series win could very well come back to haunt me in as little as 4 games.

Click the link below to hear the Blackhawks radio play-by-play man, John Weideman, call Marian Hossa’s game winning overtime goal on Saturday afternoon in Game 5 against the Nashville Predators.

The Hossa Game Misconduct
Mr. Weideman was one excited Blackhawks fan to be sure!
So my new boss, Ryno “The Original Jackass” MacIntyre said so: the Hawks will win in 6 but their power play needs step up. After four games in the first round, I think you’ll agree Ryno knows best.

I’ll be the first to admit the Preds played a perfect road game in the series opener.
Their trap execution was solid which dictated an agonizingly slow pace of play that took the fans right out of the game (I for one had to get a soda before the third period to keep myself awake!).

Niemi with a shaky goal
The last of the first round playoff match-ups gets underway tonight at the United Center as the Chicago Blackhawks kick-off their 2010 Stanley Cup run against the Nashville Predators. I’ll of course be there live and hopefully early enough to grab a playoff towel.

Section 328?
One month has passed since the NHL resumed play after the Olympic break and the Blackhawks admittedly have not played very well. But as was the case at the break, the Hawks are still two points behind San Jose for the top seed in the Western Conference and while the 11 point lead the Hawks had on Vancouver for the 2nd seed has shrunk to 5, a lead remains nonetheless.

Niemi getting the starts.
But maintaining the 2nd seed atop the Western Conference isn’t the only thing for Blackhawks fans to be happy about. There are a number of other positives hidden in the post-break details to feel good about heading into the playoffs: Read More
